The Tulsa Digital Photography Meetup Group went to the Tulsa Zoo on Saturday June 13th for a Photography Scavenger Hunt. On first thought, you might assume the idea of a scavenger hunt at a zoo would be to take a picture of certain animals, but this was a hunt for a list of various photographic techniques. My Flip Mino Camcorder was showing only 2:30 seconds of recording time left when there should have been 60 minutes left. After recording only 2:30 of video, the Mino camcorder would stop recording further. I searched for “Camcorder Full” and several other search terms to find the solution, but did not find the answer. I also searched through the Flip Mino official help.

I finally decided to submit a service desk ticket. As I selected the classification of the ticket, I noticed that there is an entire category of ticket for “Incorrect Remaining Record Time.” Searching on that term instead, I found the solution.

During the recent Tulsa Digital Photography group meetup, I had a few people ask me what gear I was using since I was running one of the stations for the model shoot. My Strobist kit is not expensive, so I thought I’d share with you the details in case anyone wants to build up a similar set. You don’t need to buy the expensive Nikon or Canon flashes to make a good Strobist lighting kit.

The main items in my Strobist kit:

  • Two light stands (about $60 each)
